Test Proctoring

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Research staff at both locations proctor written, e-mailed, or online exams. Online Exams can be completed using library computers, but the computer setting will not be modified to accommodate an online test.

A minimum of one-week notice is required before any test will be proctored. It is the responsibility of the student to schedule an appointment and make all arrangements.

Students needing a test proctored should contact the Research staff in person, by phone at (618) 452-6238, or by email  at [email protected]. Exams will be administered based on student availability and the availability of the proctor.

The testing institution usually follows up by contacting the Research staff person who will serve as the proctor. The student should call again or email prior to the testing appointment to ensure the test or login information has arrived. (The proctor will not contact the student when the exam arrives.)  The student will be required to present a valid picture I.D. at the time of the exam and will be responsible for any associated fees, including postage, copy, or fax fees.

The proctor will enforce any time limits that are placed on the exam, as well as other rules set forth in the examination materials.  They will not sign a proctoring verification that attests to more than they have been able to do. The exam must be completed, copies made as appropriate, and documents signed at least 15 minutes before Library closing.  Exams received by SMRLD, but not completed by the student, will be discarded after 30 days.  SMRLD reserves the right to deny proctoring service.
