SMRLD Customers Saved Over A MILLION DOLLARS in 2022: An Ode to Saving Money By Using the Library

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In celebration of April, National Poetry Month and Money Smart Month, and the combinded 2022 savings of our customers of $1,061,353.06 we present the following poem about saving money at your public library.

An Ode to Saving Money By Using the Library

In the quiet halls of knowledge,

A treasure trove for all to see,

Lies the public library, A haven for economy.

With books and films and music galore,

All waiting to be borrowed

There’s no need to pay for more,

For the library’s resources are borrowed.

From novels to non-fiction too,

From biographies to picture books,

From stories of the past and true,

To tales that make you look.

But it’s not just the books on shelves,

That make the library so grand,

There’s classes and events and workshops,

That help to expand the mind and hand.

With free access to information,

And entertainment too,

The library is a true gem,

In budgeting it will see you through.

So next time you’re looking for a way,

To save a little cash,

Just remember your local library,

For an economical bash.
