The Six Mile Regional Library District (SMRLD) is proud to provide high-quality service for all ages. Teen services focuses on providing programs, materials, and research help for ages 12-18. Youth services focuses on children 12 and under. See the Kids page for more information.

Celebrate National Library Week with a Peeps Diorama Contest!
All ages are welcome to participate either as individuals or as a family. Download and print the rules and entry form here (link to pdf)
Family Friendly book themed dioramas are due April 4th.
Two PEEPTASTIC awards will be given – Fan Favorite chosen by library users and Staff Favorite chosen by library staff.
Join us for our Peep Party on Saturday April 13 at 2pm at SMRLD 2001 Delmar Avenue.  We will have snacks, crafts, and announce the Peep diorama winners!
Contest Rules:
All entries should be around the size of a standard shoebox, with a maximum size of 12”x18”x12”.  Sides may be removed.
All characters in your scene should be made using Peeps.  Dioramas can use any type of Peep.
Limit of one entry per person or family team.
Dioramas with attached entry forms may be dropped off at either location on Thursday, April 4.
Winners will be awarded in two categories: SMRLD staff favorite and Fan Favorite.
Voting will be open from April 7 to 12pm on April 13th.  Votes may be cast online or in person at our Delmar Avenue location.  Winners will be announced at our Peeps Party on April 13 at 2pm.
All entries must be picked up at SMRLD  2001 Delmar Avenue by 8PM on Thursday April 18.  Remaining Dioramas will be discarded.

The Teen Advisory Group (TAG) are teenage volunteers ages 13-17 who provide input on improving library services to teens.

Want to help out at your library? Excellent!

Our volunteens can help out in a few different areas:

  • Children’s Programs – You can help onsite at our summer reading programs.
  • Computer Assistance – You can help others learn and navigate technology.
  • Homework Assistance – You can help children and peers succeed in school.
  • Bilingual Opportunities – Can you speak a second language? You could help us help our community.
  • Teen Advisory Group (TAG) – You can help improve Teen services at the library. See more about TAG below.
  • Friends of the Library (FOL)  Book Sale – You can assist the Friends of the Library with their annual book sales.

Benefits of Being a TAG member:

  • Earn community service or volunteer hours (looks great on a resume or college application)
  • Make new friends
  • Suggest books, movies, CDs, and other materials for the library
  • Plan programs and events that YOU and your friends want
  • Be an active part of making the library better for our teen customers
  • Special TAG-member only events

TAG meets the 1st Saturday of the Month at 10 AM at alternating library locations.

TAG Mission Statement:

The mission of the Six Mile Regional Library District Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is to promote and enhance library services for the teens served by the library district by:

  • Encouraging use of the library by teens by promoting the library, its services, and activities at school and in the community
  • Advising the Teen Services Librarian in material selection and collection development
  • Providing input and information to staff on issues of importance to teens
  • Planning and participating in teen programs

All TAG members are volunteers and must fill out a volunteer form.
